When you have a large collection of music, it's important to have everything in order, so you can quickly find a desired song or album. Unfortunately, the music you purchase from the Internet has some problems, as the title or the the singer's name isn't always displayed in the file name, but only in the tag information and vice-versa. This could be a real problem in case the music is played using MP3 players that read the ID3 information, as the title of the track may not be correctly displayed on their LCD. A software that can fix this is Tag&Rename. The name of the software suggests its main functionality and that's tagging and renaming any type of MP3 song.

The program installs in a flash and supports almost any Windows version, ranging from XP to Windows 7. It takes up little hard disk space and requires low system resources.

A wizard is displayed on the screen when running the software for the first time. The wizard allows the user to configure the program's functionality and it's intuitive, allowing any type of user to complete it. After having done with the wizard, the main interface of Tag&Rename will be displayed. All the user needs to do is select the desired songs, configure the renaming rules and that's it. All the songs will be automatically renamed using their tag information, according to the settings configured by the user.

The software supports a wide range of music file formats, not just MP3s.

The process is reversible, as Tag&Rename allows creating ID3 tags using file names. More songs can have their tags created at once. In case the user has a CD collection and there is no information regarding the artist or song name, this information can be easily downloaded from an Internet database using Tag&Rename.

Tag&Rename allows saving all the imported songs as a playlist, for playing back using any media player that supports playlist files, like WinAmp or Windows Media Player.

Pros:
It allows renaming multiple files at once using their tag information. Besides that, it allows creating ID3 tags using file name. Furthermore, all the songs imported into the program can be saved as playlist files.

Cons:
The options window contains a lot of settings and this may confuse a first-time user.

Tag&Rename is the perfect software for batch renaming songs using their ID3 tags and vice-versa.
